袁烽多年来专注在后人文主义视野下的建筑实践,强调技术创新与建筑文化,以及建筑环境与伦理观的有机融合。同时,不断寻求从性能化与人机协作工艺等视角。探索当代建筑的建构意义。提出了建筑性能化建构理论、开发了建筑机器人智能建造软件、硬件装备以及多项生产工艺。

博士,同济大学建筑与城市规划学院长聘教授,博士生导师;美国麻省理工学院(MIT)客座教授,美国弗吉尼亚大学(UVA)托马斯·杰斐逊教授;中国建筑学会建筑师分会、数字建造学术委员会理事;上海市数字建造工程技术中心学术委员会主任。
已出版中英文著作十余本,代表著作有《建筑机器人——技术、工艺与方法》、Collaborative Laboratory、《从图解思维到数字建造》(From Diagrammatic Thinking To Digital Fabrication)等。多次特邀在哈佛大学、麻省理工学院、哥伦比亚大学、苏黎世联邦理工大学等校讲座,其设计屡获国际、国家级各类奖项,包括中国建筑学会建筑创作奖金奖、银奖、2018年上海市建筑学会科技进步奖一等奖、WA建筑佳作奖、THE PLAN AWARD、IAA奖、深圳双年展公众奖及维纳博艮砖筑奖等。袁烽及其作品也曾多次参加国内外展览,其中包括2018柏林建筑画廊个展,2018威尼斯建筑双年展,2017芝加哥建筑双年展,2013米兰三年展、深圳双年展、上海双年展等。
Philip F. Yuan is a professor in College of Architecture and Urban Planning (CAUP) at Tongji University, visiting professor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT, 2019) and Thomas Jefferson professor at University of Virginia (UVA, 2019). His research involves the implementations of prototypical methods and advanced manufacturing techniques and focuses on how digital tools offer the possibility of a new authorship for today’s architects based on an understanding of culture, materials and the built environment.
Philip F. Yuan has published more than 10 books on this field, including Building Robotics: Technology, Craft and Methodology (China Architecture & Building Press, 2020), Robotic Force Printing (Tongji UPress, 2019), Collaborative Laboratory (Oscar Riera Ojeda Publishers, 2018). His research theories are recognizable in many of his architectural practices including Fab-Union Space (Shanghai, 2015), Chi She (Shanghai, 2016), In Bamboo (Sichuan, 2017), Inkstone House (Sichuan, 2018) and The Light of Internet Expo Center (Wuzhen, 2019).
His projects have received many international awards, and have been published, exhibited worldwide such as Milan Triennial (2013), Shanghai Biennale (2014), Chicago Biennale (2017), Venice Architectural Biennale (2018), Shenzhen/Hong Kong Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism/Architecture (2013, 2019) and have formed parts of several renowned museum collections including Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York and M+ Museum in Hong Kong.
