因园工坊 | Yinyuan Studio

王宝珍主持的因园工坊在保持全球视野的好奇下，崇尚传统作坊式的工作状态及追问式的学习推进。因园工坊的探索主要有四点：建造是本，庭园话语，可游之境，文体与造园。建造是本，是基本原则：一切思考都要回归到最基本的建造，忌空谈。庭园话语，是主要内容：以庭、园为主要组织方式或启动器，探索建筑与自然的关系、人与自然的关系。可游之境，是理想境地：努力超越可行、可望、可居，试图追求可游。文体与造园，是思想源泉：为多线叙事提供思想与方法的滋养。

2008年毕业于北京大学，师承董豫赣先生，2008至今，执教于郑州大学建筑学院；2008年以砖为材的系列设计获美国SOM基金会主办的国际竞赛第一名而赴欧洲游学；2009年应香港理工大学叶长安教授邀请参加香港举办的CHINA BECOMING（泛中华地区新生代新锐建筑师）作品展；2013年《建构实验：双曲拱之建造》在“全国高等学校建筑设计教案和教学成果评选活动”中获优秀教案奖和优秀指导教师奖；2015年参加由重庆大学、湖南大学、华中科技大学及《新建筑》杂志联合主办的“地景建造论坛·青年建筑师作品展”；2017年作品专著《造园实录》由同济大学出版社出版发行。

Baozhen Wang

Founded by Wang Baozhen, the practice of Yinyuan Studio focuses on tectonics as its basis, the tradition of Chinese gardening, places of roaming, and poetic imagination as the means of attuning their designs. In order to fuse Chinese tectonic tradition and contemporary techniques, Yinyuan Studio aims to experiment with a series of correlative factors: Materialization, detailing, structural considerations, and atmospheric and bodily experiences. By seeking a balance amongst these factors, the studio hopes to create a place with an inspiring atmosphere. The second motivation for their practice lies in reviving the tradition of the Chinese garden. As a kind of all-encompassing art, the classic Chinese garden should be considered the counterpart of Western architectural tradition rather than a characteristic timber structure system. This great gardening tradition has had — and will continue to have — a positive impact on the Chinese way of life. According to the work of the famous 11th century painter and gardener Guo Xi, a garden as an ideal place should be designed as “where one can walk, where one can view, where one can live, and where one can roam.” While these principles are oftentimes overlooked by Western architecture, they constitute a guideline for the designs of the studio. Lastly, the architects have proposed a novel form of elementary composition, which is not just based on its visual quality, but also on poetic imagination.
