家琨建筑 | Jiakun Architects
刘家琨的建筑实践关注社会现实、尊重地域文脉、融入现场环境、提炼民间技艺，每一个项目的设计试图带着现实感解决当代建筑事宜。他保持着对中国多重传统开放的视野，怀着在现代和传统间取得兼容的信念，致力于将东方的文化内涵转译成当代的建筑语言。他的设计作品体现了当代建筑理念和对传统的精神继承，传达出中国当代建筑罕见的将个人记忆与集体记忆交融激荡的卓越品质。刘家琨始终秉持着对满足人们需求的纯粹信念，不断探究建筑中的适宜技术。他的许多作品阐明了中国民众公共生活与城市文化空间相互交织的关系。
刘家琨主持设计的作品被选送参加威尼斯建筑双年展、艺术双年展等众多国际展览，并多次在中外重要国际期刊出版。曾获得建筑实录中国奖、亚洲建协荣誉奖、远东建筑奖、WAN世界建筑新闻奖2017: Best in Asia / PAC等多个重要奖项，并应邀在法国巴黎建筑与遗产城博物馆，美国麻省理工学院、英国皇家艺术学院、巴黎夏佑宫等多所院校及机构开办讲座。
Jiakun Architects was founded by Liu Jiakun in 1999. Since its establishment, Jiakun Architects has continuously organized and participated in various international collaborations and exhibitions. As a multidisciplinary office, Jiakun Architects has worked with a range of international clients. The studio not only specializes in architectural design, but also in large-scale planning, urban, landscape, interior, and product design, as well as installation art. Focusing on social realities, Liu always insists that architecture which respects tradition, local context, and vernacular craftsmanship forms a symbiotic relationship with nature.
Furthermore, Liu Jiakun aims to solve contemporary architectural issues with a sense of realism for each project — an approach inspired by folk wisdom. His design vision integrates China’s multiple cultures and traditions. Believing in the compatibility of tradition and modernity, Liu devotes himself to translating traditional Chinese cultural ethos into contemporary architectural language, which represents an elegant interweaving of individual and collective memories. His exploration of suitable technical approaches in architecture is purely the logical continuation of his professional work aiming to serve people in need. Many of these projects shine a light on the reciprocal relation between Chinese public life and urban cultural spaces.
Liu’s projects have been exhibited at many international exhibitions, such as the 15th Venice Biennale of Architecture and the 56th Venice Biennale of Art. Additionally, Liu designed the first international pavilion for the Serpentine Galleries in 2018. He has been longlisted for many domestic and international architectural awards, including the Honor Prize of the 7th ARCASIA, the 2003 Chinese Architecture & Art Prize, the Far East Award in Architecture, the Architectural Design Award from the Architectural Society of China, and the WAN Civic Buildings Award 2017: Best in Asia / PAC, among others. He has been invited to give lectures at Cité de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Royal Academy of Arts, Palais de Chaillot in Paris and many top universities in China.
